Why Now?
The world is at a crossroads.
Burnout, stress and disengagement have reached record levels,
costing organisations billions and eroding the human energy
needed to create change.
Impact within the System
These are not just personal struggles, they are systemic crises effecting productivity, wellbeing and growth.
- 82% of professionals feel overwhelmed or exhausted (Mercer, 2024)
- $322 billion USD is lost annually to burnout-related turnover and reducedproductivity (Deloitte, 2022)
- $8.8 trillion USD, or 9% of global GDP, is lost to disengaged employees (Gallup, 2024)
In Australia, educator wellbeing and retention have reached
critical levels, directly impacting student learning, engagement and the future workforce (Productivity Commission, 2023).
When educators burn out, students lose inspiration.
When leaders burn out, teams lose direction.
When individuals burn out, communities lose connection.
Yet amid this crisis lies an extraordinary opportunity: to redefine success, not by how much we do, but by how well we thrive.
The Approach
A science-backed, practical cycle that transforms daily survival into daily thriving, in schools, workplaces and local communities.
The Joy Activation Cycle
Behind the Mission
The Global Joy Mission was founded by
Simi Rayat, an award-winning Global Business Psychologist, Executive Coach and Wiley-published author of Productivity Joy and Find Your Joy. Simi has spent over two decades helping leaders, educators and organisations across Australia, the UK, Canada, and Asia build cultures where people don’t just perform, they thrive.
Her evidence-based frameworks, including the 5Qs Formula and the Joy Index, integrate psychological science with practical strategy to help people transform daily survival into daily thriving. A sought-after keynote speaker and advisor, Simi has inspired audiences from Fortune 500 boardrooms to global education summits.
Her work bridges wellbeing and performance, showing that when joy becomes part of the system, growth, innovation and impact naturally follow.
